Xerox eyes 40% marketshare in copier segment this year

NEW DELHI: Xerox Modicorp, document management company, is looking to increase its market share to 40 per cent this year in the copier segment on the back of new launches. Xerox currently has a market share of 34 per cent in the copier market and it plans to expand its marketshare by making further inroads into the digital copier market by migrating exiting analogue customers to entry level digital products and driving adoption of colour in the office. "As prices come down and visibility for document management technologies increases, we expect there to be an increase in demand for multi-functional colour devices and we expect to make most of this improving business environment to grow our marketshare to 40 per cent in 2004", Xerox Modircorp marketing director Genndy German said in a statement. The company plans to enhance its focus on in the office and SOHO segment, it said. Xerox Modicorp India's revenue from standalone copier and multi-function products currently contributes 75 per cent of the company's equipment revenues, it said.
