Bangalore: The world's largest 'jalebi' was fried by a local confectioner in Shillong on Saturday. Also, this delicious feat found its place in the Limca Book of Records too.
This massive sweet is large enough to cover an entire a human body. The Jalebi is 75 inches in diameter and weighs about 15 kg, the proud confectioner Kailash Verma said.

The record breaking Jalebi was fried in a specially fabricated frying pan by as many as six cooks with the support of 14 others. The gang of cooks (who obviously know squat about how the price of fuel is causing the global economic slowdown) used 50 litres of vegetable oil. With the oil went 3 kg of flour and 30 litres of sugar syrup, Verma, proprietor of Delhi Mistan Bhandar, which is celebrating its platinum jubilee with the feat, said.
The event was one of the highlights of the annual Autumn Festival organised here by the Meghalaya Tourism Development Forum, which kicked off today with a gala carnival and funfair. Officials of the Limca Book of Records had assigned State Tourism Minister Conrad Sangma and GOC of 101 Area Army Maj Gen K S Sethi to act as adjudicators. After drooling non stop for an unspecified time at the sight of the yummy Jalebi, they confirmed the record.

2:Stale jalebi and stale report. The event was
held last year in Shillong and not this year.
Why do you copy old report. Please withdraw
the report at the earliest.
