World's Third Largest Data Center Now in Bangalore

Bangalore: Tulip Telecom yesterday unveiled Asia’s largest and the world’s third largest Data Center in Bangalore. Tulip Data Center Services (Tulip), an enterprise data services provider announced the commercial launch of its Bengaluru Data Center, Tulip Data City (TDC). Sachin Pilot, Minister of State for Communication and IT inaugurated this world-class Data center.

TDC is a multi-tiered facility built to tier 4 and tier 3 standards. Being the most ‘green’ and the most power efficient data center in India, the facility is expected to save close to 35 MW power at full capacity. The company has teamed with organization like IBM, HP, Cisco, EMC, Schneider Electric, Emerson, Panduit and Corning among others to build the facility. It is spread across 0.9 million sq ft. A modern day fortress, this facility has the capacity to house upto 12,000 racks, backed by up to 100 MW of Power. This facility is equipped with an Integrated Building Management Systems, which ensures management of every component of the data centre to include power, cooling, security and air-conditioning.

Speaking on the launch, Lt Col HS Bedi, Chairman & Managing Director, Tulip Telecom said, “This data center by Tulip Telecom is a testimony to our focus on constant innovation and commitment towards adopting new technologies. Large enterprises and global leaders are partnering with Tulip progressively through this data center as they see cost optimization and complete security of their mission critical data.”

On this occasion, Mr Sachin Pilot, Hon’ble Minister of State for Communication and IT said “I am happy to be a part of the inauguration of this technology marvel which is the third largest data center in the world. Data Centers are at the heart of today’s digital revolution and enable not only enterprise services but also many governments to citizen services. It is a matter of pride that India today boasts of a world class Data center, which is the largest outside of the US.”  -

 Tulip’s data center is fully capable of delivering cloud solutions to cater to the always-changing data and connectivity needs of today’s enterprises and the government sector. The facility will serve the hosting, co-location, storage and bandwidth needs of large, small and medium businesses in the region, while also serving as a disaster recovery facility for enterprises across the world.

The company already has four operational data centers two in Mumbai, and one each in Delhi and Bengaluru.
