Switzerland’s rich grew more than 7 percent last year, inspite of Europe as a whole seeing a reduction in its ultra-wealthy population. The combined wealth of the ultra rich has increased over 3 percent year by year, even with the global economic slowdown. What have attracted most ultra-rich people to Switzerland are its favorable tax and privacy laws, as they can keep their money even without permanently living in the country.

Hong Kong is Asia’s key financial center which also resides some of the richest people with billions. Hong Kong did feel the impact of the slowing economic growth across North Asia, which dropped the total wealth of the Hong Kong billionaire group by 11 percent. Li Ka-shing, the 84-year-old billionaire is Hong Kong’s richest man, who also saw a decline in his wealth, due to the slowdown.
