Bangalore: In the last few years, the percentage of active women gamers touched around 50 percent from near to zero percent. Today, globally 45 percent of active gamers are female, and even more women own PSPs than men, with a figure of 52 percent.
According to Nielsen's 2010 fact sheet for the media industry, the most played console, in terms of minutes of gaming time, is apparently the Xbox 360, which occupied 23 percent of total usage time. The PS2 followed it with a share of 20 percent, and the Wii was third with 19 percent.

Even in automobile industry, women make more automobile purchasing decisions than men. In Canada, Market Researcher Maritz Canada reports that women influence some 66 percent of all buying decisions, including vehicle purchases.
During the last decade, significant inroads have been made into the industry by the likes of Bobbie Gaunt, Former President and CEO of Ford Motor of Canada and Linda Hasenfratz, CEO of Linamar, an auto parts manufacturer based in Ontario.
In order for any industry to change, the percentage of women employed in the industry has to increase. Without change happening across the board, the culture of the industry is not going to change.

2: Can anyone describe what exactly Tech Savvy
means? Does it make a person Tech Savvy if a
woman play video games or just buy mobiles,
or just make decisions of buying a car?
How many women understand the in-built features of a mobile, which platform is used, whether it has GPRS or not? How many women see what is the overall length, width n height of a car, kerb weight, mileage, displacement, seating capacity, power, torque, transmission efficiency of a car before buying it? Women would only see if the car suits her image among the female circle whom she interacts with.
Pooja, there is nothing chauvinism or feminism in this. But the fact is, a woman would like to have a better mobile n car than her best female friend or colleague even if she doesn\\\'t know the detailed features and specifications of the same. This can only be defined as an IGNORANT SHOWOFF and not as TECH SAVVY !
I would like to ask one simple question. If given a choice of two cameras, 1. 12.1MP with 3X optical zoom and 2. 7MP with 5X optical zoom.. Which one a man and a woman go for? Simple. A man would go for the 2nd one, but the woman would go for the 1st one.
Let the female personalities only find, why is it so!

3:Yes exactly,many women like to show off,so
they end up purchasing the latest gadgets
& gizmos,hence giving a false impression
that they are Tech savvy.
I have seen many girls having a good Music phone, and even though having an ipod. Now i would ask whats special in that ipod ?
And numerous similar cases to mention..
But why someone doesn't say that girls eat more than guys!
As we see more females then males in Coffee Day,KFC, Pizza huts,Ice Cream Parlors(As they wont eat anything in Homes/Hostels/PGs).
But here many wont spend it from their own pockets, instead they put Blade to poor guys !.
And also they order more than they eat and tend to waste items and guy's money.

9: Data is right conclusion is wrong -
I saw woman purchase more mobile phones - not because they are tech savvy, but because they forget their mobiles. Also the mobile snatchers mostly target women.
Second with respect to game, my computer game playing habit is completely gone after I got married. How can it prove that woman like video games.

10: .
Most of the Industrial Designers, sales people, managers and all were women in those old days. All of that has changed. Perhaps we might see less aggressive looking cars that consume less?
