Women in 20s - India's new business tycoons
By
SiliconIndia,Sunday, 13 September 2009, 20:17 Hrs
New Delhi: The fresh entrants in the Indian business environment, are a young bunch of confident women in the clutch of twenty something. Its no more the days when the sons of the business tycoons were the default trademark to make it big in the business world. From Roshni Nadar, offspring of Indian tech billionaire Shiv Nadar, to Lakshmi Venu, the 26-year-old daughter of TVS supremo Venu Srinivasan, these fresh entrants in India are here for the long run, reports Economic Times.

"It was only in 2006 that I decided to join the group full time, at which time I went back to school to professionally train myself and get further educated in order to take on greater responsibilities within the group. As a group, we aspire to be a $10 billion group in the future and I would like to play my part in making that happen by creating value in the areas of business that I'm focusing on - Innovative Technologies and Finance," said Divya Modi, who holds a 24 percent stake in her father B K Modi's Spice Group. The skills acquired, through their management degrees, come handy for the young girls to be their father's right hand in business. An MBA from Kellogg School Of Business, Roshni is currently supervising the education initiatives of the philanthropic arm of her family business
Being from a business family, their hand on the varied matters of the industry at large keeps them well-grounded to excel in the arena. 28-year-old Devita Saraf, Director at Zenith and CEO of Vu Technologies describes herself as a young, curious and naughty girl. She started training at Zenith at the age of 16. As a young person, especially as a woman, everyone is willing to give you free advice. You have to listen, learn and appreciate peoples roles in your business.

1: Some have an advantage of Trying and Really
Not Risking.
And few others have the advantage of Trying and Complaining.
But most of those few, do really have the advantage of Trying and Taking Credits if Victorious and Shifting Responsibility if Otherwise.

11: Well, with all due regards,
mundae peeche hain kudiyon ke, tabhi to woh agay hain ... lol
cool it man, its all IQ level. No 2 humans have it same.
I've seen women making their say, stand in various strands of life and professionalism.
I've seen men too.
So, I believe, its just the 'right clicks' at the 'right time'.
So just chill. I respect women. And one thing for sure, its women who can actually deal with home, men are simply nothing as compared to them in this regards. Women, i think, can make house a home, and vice-versa too.
No one can imagine a society without men & women.
So why is the debate.
Its good to see someone rising, be it a boy or a girl.
I think, in India, it is necessary to highlight these kind of news. May be it changes mind of few who won't kill their babies in the womb itself.

Still it is great when compared to many
siblings of great business men did not make
it to be a business men themselves.
It is a great pride of India women like Kiran Mzumda or Kochar lead a great team and are self-styled achievers, they are self doctrined personalities.
I feel the Management Institutions should train the aspirants to be leaders and entrepreneurs. One successful entrepreneur will generate hundreds of job opportunities and hundreds of entrepreneurs will generate thousands of Jobs.
I believe there are many women who independently ventured in to small business and aspiring to make it big, they require real appreciation and publicity who can be role models to many youngsters.
The article is good and encouraging for the women to be leaders. Hard work, sincerity and dedication is the only path human can take and God will bless them all. This has to be followed even if they are brought in to top position by their elders failing which they will succumb to the competition and ruin the business empire.

14: In India, a corner shop owner has his son
take over his business. In politics,
politicians have their son/daughter enter
politics, in some cases irrespective of
whether they have the right skills. In
movies, with a couple of exceptions, most
movie stars have their kids join films,
whether they have talent or not. At least in
Corporate India, I hope meriotocracy should
take hold. It should not matter where you are
born or whether your are from North, South,
East, West or Central India. But
unfortunately, it matters a lot in India
still, as to what family you are born into.
Until all the kids in India, can aspire to
climb Corporate Ladder, the articles like
this will do nothing to help. Take away the
family ties, and can these 20 year olds still
make it on their own in Corporate India? We
have to end the culture of sycophancy in
India. Let us get rid of our cultural baggage
of bowing to Kings & Queens , whether
they are British, from Rich families or Movie
Stars. Let everyone be judged by their work
alone, not where they are born. Until India
gets to that point, we have a lot of work to
do to change our culture. It is exactly this
culture that allowed a handful of Britishers
to rule & exploit a country of millions
for 150 years. At least in Corporate India,
please do not glorify 20 somethings, who are
there only because they are born in a rich
family. Thats no way to run a professional
corporation that has public shareholders,
IMHO. Remember Satyam?

the human who is running the business. In my
eyes, the capable one should win either be it
a Son or a Lady. What really matters is how
effeciently they handel the pressure and
serve the customers as well keep enployees

24: Well, it is perfect nonsense to think that
women are not equal to men in many
capacities. However, the only problem would
be giving reservation to women who are
mentally trained to be servant class and
given seats of power and prestige. It would
be equivalent to posting a servant as an
officer.
Females brought up in perfect ambience to men brought up in perfect ambience. Men also belong to all classes, including that of the servant class. Here I am talking about the Indian social scene. See this

they have a reason to get it at this age,

people giving priority to women(Because they
look cool when the interaction with clients),
as they have opportunity they are utilizing
it properly. Men can do better than woman in

lack 1 of the important abilities of men
which is will power the ability to survive in
difficult situations which is needed in
corporate world so some of them may have it

31:.
I hope we are not just talking about women of India or even worse, just those we are aware of.
Women excel in survival. It is also women who nurtured children, patiently worked through various stages of human development and also had to act as though they really admired their husbands.
Many displaced races wouldn't have survived without strong women especially since men tend to wander off in more ways than one. Wit more women in the workforce, perhaps we will find more family like atmosphere in business instead of the usual hierarchal system.
By the way... why can't we use spell check before publishing for the whole world to see ?

sound is a optional part for woman but for
man that is mandatory.Still, pretty woman
can achieve fame, power and rank more easily.
They gets many opportunity, but man have to
struggle in every pace of life. This is becoz,
woman can utilize her god give assets
properly.I hate that kind of woman. But, that
is basically the fault of man, who give
