Wireless networks can help forecast calamities

Hubli: Wireless technology expert B L Desai has said that path-breaking research in wireless networking helps forecast natural disasters like tsunami, earthquakes and landslides, reports Times of India.
Speaking at a seminar on 'Wireless sensor networks and applications', organized by BVB Engineering College he said t
hat the technology would be useful to individuals and the society at large. Experts like Vijay Kumar B P, P R Patil, Vaishali Paitankar, Ashok Chikaraddi, S V Seeri and Ashok Shettar also spoke at the event. Over 89 faculty members and hundreds of students attended the seminar sponsored by AICTE.
