Wipro institutes Global Applied Innovation Awards 2007

Washington: Indian IT major Wipro Technologies has announced a global innovation award in partnership with the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) and Information Technology Association of America (ITAA). The "Applied Innovation Awards for Business seek to recognise innovations that infuse newer ideas and newer ways of doing things into all parts of the organization, and improve business outcomes, often without major disruptive change. "The Innovations should have been matured in an environment of collaboration such as co-innovations, global sourcing or business transformation," said the announcement from Wipro Technologies, the global IT services business of Wipro Limited. Deadline for the nominations is 11:59 p.m. (Washington time), Aug 31, 2007 (9:29 a.m. IST Sep 1) for awards in six innovation categories: Innovations (Organization); Process Innovation; Business Innovation; Delivery Model Innovation; Service / Product Innovation; and Innovator of the year (Individual). Michael Corbett, Chairman, IAOP said, "This prestigious award programme will reward and recognize innovative outsourcing outcomes by global companies and individuals. As the leading association dedicated to helping organizations optimise outsourcing and increase their outsourcing success rates, the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals is pleased to be partnering with Wipro and ITAA on this award programme." Phil Bond, CEO, ITAA said, "As ITAA works to advance an agenda for innovation at the grassroots, national and global levels, we believe it's important to recognise the real innovators. This is about the game changers, the leaders who have harnessed the power of collaboration and global delivery to benefit their customers, investors and the American economy." The independent jury will include members from IAOP, ITAA, Erehwon Innovation Consulting and other independent thought leaders and innovation experts. The awards are open only for end-user companies and vendors do not qualify to apply. The winners will be announced at the "Wipro-Forbes Innovation Conference and Awards Night" Oct 23, 2007 in New York. Winning case studies will be featured on Applied Innovation site on Forbes.com and across the websites and other thought leadership channels of ITAA and IAOP. Erehwon Innovation Consulting is the awards knowledge partner and will manage the nomination and application process, screening and short listing of finalists in collaboration with the jury.
