Wipro grabs Lodha's 10-year IT Contract

Bangalore: Wipro Infotech, the India and Middle East IT Business of Wipro, grabbed 132 crore worth 10 year IT contract. The real estate developer, Lodha Group, has given this contract for IT transformation. The group plans to pace up its IT sector, with focus on development of offices, campuses, Special Economic Zones (SEZ) and townships, to make itself highly customer centric. Numerous projects in and around Mumbai are being developed by the company, with a view to make a mark in southern and western markets. The firm plans to invest 2,000 crore for developing exclusive commercial spaces in Mumbai. It has a land bank of over 6000 acres and has earmarked a portion of it for six such projects. "We have been on an aggressive growth path and we are excited about this partnership which will transform all our technology systems and processes to keep pace with our growth. This significant partnership will strengthen our approach of being a more customer focused organization," said Abhisheck Lodha, Director, Lodha Group. Wipro too expects to provide efficient service through innovative methods with an ensured flexibility to boost the real estate company's IT functions. In a recent landmark development, Deutsche Bank invested $425 million in Lodha Group's Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), marking the single largest FDI in the real estate sector in India.
