Wipro Technologies ranked no. 2 globally by U.S. Diversity Council
Bangalore: Wipro Technologies, the Information Technology, Consulting and Outsourcing business of Wipro Limited, announced that it has been ranked 2nd in the list of Top 25 U.S. diversity councils, by The Association of Diversity Councils, a practice group of diversity and inclusion consulting and training firm PRISM International. The rankings were announced recently and the 1st rank in this list went to the U.S. Navy. Pratik Kumar, Executive Vice President, Human Resources, Wipro Limited, who is also the Chairperson of the Diversity Council at Wipro said "This recognition by The Association of Diversity Councils is another feather in our Diversity cap. Diversity is embedded in Wipro's DNA, globally, and we imbibe the cultures of the geographies we operate in. This sense of inclusiveness nurtures a culture of greater creativity and innovation." With an employee base of about 120,000, which includes people from 74 nationalities, spread across 54 countries, Wipro Technologies is committed to leveraging diversity. Their focus on creating a dynamic and powerful socio-business network led to the first diversity related Twitter based interactive conference that was open to all employees and persons outside the organization." In its third year, the prestigious Diversity Council Honors Award honors the outstanding contributions and achievements of diversity council groups that lead organizational diversity processes and demonstrate results in their Workforce, Workplace and Marketplace. To qualify for the Diversity Council Honors Award, participating council groups must have been in operation for at least two years and have demonstrated contributions and achievements in four categories: Demonstrated Council Results; Demonstrated Management Commitment; Measurement and Accountability; Communication and Education. An independent jury panel evaluated the applications.
