Kozhikode: Wipro BPO has announced that it will hire 15,000 employees this year, for its operations at different centers in India. The company, which is part of the IT bellwether Wipro has already recruited around 8,000 employees and is in the process of selecting another 7,000 over the next six months, for which it has been holding job fairs in association with various universities, reports The Hindu Business Line.

Out of the total recruitments, 1,200 - 1,500 people will be hired from the southern region. Praveen Kamath, Associate Vice President of Wipro-BPO, said that the company now had over 24,000 employees on its roll at 15 locations spread across Eastern Europe, China and the Philippines, apart from India. "The BPO division was one of the fastest growing businesses of Wipro and it would require about 15,000 new recruits annually," he added.

According to Kamath, the company is focusing on undergraduates for 40 percent of the requirement and graduates and post-graduates for the remaining 60 percent. Besides, the company will also provide opportunity for the further education of the selected candidates while being on the job.

16: I have been working in a BPO industry (HSBC) since 2 1/2 yrs. I have recently attended the wipro drive in my city for DELL operations and believe me they started offering me peanuts for the post. They are so cheap they negotiate even after knowing that my current CTC is way beyond the CTC which they wanted to offer..And do you know they want to hiring graduates and engineers for 8000 and 10,000 incl. INCENTIVES for sales....
SO I CALL IT CHEAP WIPRO

44: There will be security guards on the front gate. Sign their visitor book and go inside the gate. That means you can say you are in wipro. But to apply for job and all find the process. They will call you for interview if you are suitable one. If selected you will be given appointment letter. That means you are in wipro. But if you are good educated then I suggest you, you try else where, there are also other companies which offer good jobs to good educated ones. That means if you are selected there you are somewhere else. And if are else where there do not ask 'how can i get into wipro bpo'.

47: i worked @ wipro for 6 months & i realised wipro is a good place to work if business is good but it's the worst company if business is bad, i was in a group of 45 & we all were told to resign or get terminated. they don't have infy like culture, where a common person can grow & become a CEO.

Mr. Premji prefers his family members to lead the organisation than the one's who work @ wipro.

but if u don't get a job elsewhere , do join wipro.

48: What is the security in BPO job. When recesion apears they cut your salary or simply kick you off from the company. This is also somehow we can manage if their may little bit hope about your future like good educated jobs. There is no use of your knwowledge. If you are an educated man this job will be made your life totally hell and never go further at all for good opportunity.

Hope you understood. I dont want to make your hope down. But this is the truth.
