Windows 8 to head its way in 2012

Bangalore: A lot of speculation has been doing its rounds in and around Windows 8 . Finally the confirmation on the next version of windows has come from the very person, Steve Ballmar . He made the revelation at a Microsoft Developer Forum in Tokyo and mentioned that the next version of the software giant's operating system will be available in 2012. The company officials were refraining to call next version as Windows 8, but the Ballmer's transcript clearly mentioned about it. Commenting on Windows new version he said "We are obviously hard at work on the next version of Windows. Windows 7 PCs will sell over 350 million units this year. We have done a lot in Windows 7 to improve customer satisfaction. We have a brand new user interface. Wehave added touch, and ink, and speech. And yet, as we look forward to the next generation of Windows systems, which will come out next year, there is a whole lot more coming. As we progress through the year, you ought to expect to hear a lot about Windows 8. Windows 8 slates, tablets, PCs, a variety of different form factors." Ballmar pointed out that Microsoft wants its device to recognize you and your actions, like Kinect does for gaming, and is also geared up to structure the search engines in such a way that, and the user interface of the device can take actions on your behalf. Apart from confirming the release of Windows 8 he also maintained that, they will be adding 500 new features to upgrade Windows Phone 7. The upgraded Windows Phone 7 is the strategy to capture the market of smartphones and tablets. He further talked about the company's usage of HTML and JavaScript and that more and more of the world's talent will know these techniques soon. As far as Microsoft acquisition matters are related he said that Skype is just another representation of what Microsoft think is the importance of enabling a broad range of scenarios in the cloud.
