BANGALORE: WebEx Communications Inc., the world's leading provider of Web communications services, has extended its MediaTone Network throughout India, enabling Indian companies to use Web communications services to cost-effectively collaborate with customers, colleagues and partners around the world. WebEx's range of Web communications services help companies decrease travel costs, accelerate sales, enhance partner communications, and improve customer support and training. Prior to this extension of the MediaTone Network to India, WebEx's existing network and platform in India provided the reliability, security and scalability necessary to service WebEx meeting customers. The company has now enhanced the India network with the multimedia switching platform known as 'MediaTone', a proprietary communications platform specifically developed for real-time Web communications. Advances built into this third-generation MediaTone platform translate into capabilities that extend the features and number of services now available to Indian businesses as they have been to thousands of businesses in the U.S., Europe and elsewhere in Asia. "The Indian service industry is witnessing rapid growth and WebEx is committed helping Indian companies find cost-effective ways to communicate with their global customers and partners," said Subrah Iyar, CEO, WebEx Communications. "We believe that the service enhancements achieved by extending the WebEx MediaTone Network throughout India give Indian companies significant communications and competitive advantages within the world marketplace." According to Rajeev Purnaiya, Managing Director of CyberBazaar, a WebEx company, "The extension of the WebEx MediaTone Network to India signifies the formal launch of WebEx in India.
