Virtusa to invest $33M in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Virtusa Corporation, an IT solutions provider, has planned an investment of about $48 million in its Asia operations based out of India and Sri Lanka during fiscal 2007. Of this, $33 million would be in India. The company employs about 2,500 people in its global technology centers in Hyderabad and Chennai (India) and in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It has acquired six acres in Hyderabad to develop a campus for up to 5,000 employees. Announcing this, the company’s Chairman and CEO, Kris Canekeratne said, “We have enjoyed a three-year compounded annual growth rate of over 45 percent. The additions to our management team and our planned investment in Asia represent our confidence in the future, as we continue to grow and expand our global presence.”
