Vinod Khosla to set up an Incubator in India: To Benefit Social Startups


Khosla has hired Srikanth Nadhamuni, Head of Technology at Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), as the CEO of the labs. Nadhamuni played a key role in building the technology for the ambitious UID (Adhaar) project.

With this new responsibility on his shoulder, Nadhamuni has resigned from his duties at UIDAI. “I will associate with UIDAI whenever they need me,” he said.

We know that Khosla is planning an entity in India through which he is planning to do some exciting stuffs in the country that will address many issues of ours,” says another source reported by business-standard.  

In one of his early interviews Khosla was quoted saying, “India is slowly witnessing changes in the start-up ecosystem and interesting technology products are coming from the country. There are problems to be resolved in the country.”

Khosla’s investment strategy has been unique; they invest in various sectors but often focusing in social sectors. Investments under this genre include - SKS Microfinance, CASHPOR Financial and Technical Services and MokshaYug Access.
