STANFORD, CT: Protegrity Corporation, a maker of data security management solutions has acquired Kavado, a Stanford-based provider of web application security products. Indian American Vikram Desai is the President and Chief of the company. The acquisition complements Protegrity’s Secure Data, recognized by Forrester as the strongest offering available for database encryption and security management, with robust application security and advanced alerting. The combined offering gives customers a solution for end-to-end security with centralized, enterprise-wide policy management, monitoring, and reporting. "Today, corporations are faced with selecting and managing multiple point products, which is inefficient and ineffective," said Gordon Rapkin, Protegrity president and CEO. "The acquisition of Kavado now gives us the ability to protect sensitive data wherever it resides - in applications, databases, backups, and storage - and across any technology infrastructure. By protecting data from acquisition to deletion, we can help companies more efficiently meet regulatory requirements and reduce the escalating legal and financial risks associated with security breaches."
