Sky was not the only limit for this flamboyant liquor tycoon. His reach also touched the oceans and the seas.
He was reported to own several islands around the globe. Back in 2009, several sources has confirmed that Mallya bought an island in Europe with a whooping cost of $100 million. He also owns several islands in Maldives, which has been converted to high-end resorts. He has also acquired an island called ‘Thinnakkara’ in Lakshwadeep.

However, his company officials clearly stated that Vijay Mallya never bought any island in France and the Thinnakkara Island was acquired on lease.

4. Farms in Kunigal

The Kunigal Farm is the oldest stud farm in India and is one of the most charismatic possessions of Mallya.

This farm was previously the horse breeding farm of Tipu Sultan and after his death was taken by the British. Mallya imported many stallions in this farm, most of which are used for racing.

This farm has been declared as a heritage site by the Karnataka government. Talks are also going on to make an underground tunnel for railway lines under this farm.
