Valicert appoints Bedford VP Sales

MOUNTAIN VIEW: Valicert, Inc. (Nasdaq: VLCT), a provider of secure Internet communications software for financial services and corporate supply chains, Tuesday announced the appointment of Mike Bedford as Vice President of Sales for North America. With over twenty years of sales and management experience, Mr. Bedford brings to Valicert a distinguished track record of building and growing technology related companies. Most recently, he served as Vice President of North America Sales at Syntrex, a provider of secure and reliable Internet-based file transfer and data exchange solutions for mission-critical information. Prior to Syntrex, Mr. Bedford was Director of Sales for Global Strategic Accounts at Sterling Commerce/SBC, spearheading the creation and launch of the Global Sales Group. His sales unit became one of the most successful in the company, driving in $75 million of new revenue in three years. Mr. Bedford also spent nine years with Wang Laboratories managing and developing their commercial account sales effort into a global strategic initiative. In addition, Mr. Bedford has held management and consulting positions with Oracle and Legent Corporation.
