Hyderabad: Making more revolutions possible on visual computing, manufacturers, IT innovators and public bodies came together to discuss the future of graphics processing unit (GPU). "The GPU has moved far beyond its gaming origins. Products like Tegra, displayed today at the event, demonstrate our ability to create world class IT products here in Hyderabad and contribute to building Brand India," said J A Chowdary, President of TiE while addressing a gathering in the Visual Computing Seminar (VCS). Held in Hyderabad, VCS has been organized by NVIDIA in association with TiE Hyderabad and HYSEA. NVIDIA demonstrated three optimized and three non-optimized PC systems currently available from retailers in India. "We hope events like this will help the IT community in Hyderabad to experience and get to know world's most talked about technologies," said Narasimha Rao, President of HYSEA. Attendees of the seminar saw how balancing a consumer’s investment by using a more powerful GPU and a less powerful CPU can actually deliver a system which gives higher performance for an equal or lower cost. The ability to optimize PCs is a vital sales tool for manufacturers and system builders wanting to offer attractive deals to their customers, particularly in an intensely price-conscious market like India. The visitors were given the feel of the technologies through demos on GPUs for mobile phones, Netbooks, which deliver a premium visual computing experience and optimized PCs.
