Unisys appoints key members to its Indian management team

BANGALORE: Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS), IT consulting and outsourcing solutions provider and makers of high-end server computers, today announced the appointment of Srikanth Raghavan as Director, Software Development - Financial Sector and Jayasimha (Jay) Varadarajan as Director, IT Services, in its Global Services India operation. Unisys recently announced plans to expand its India operations with the launch of its new technology development centre in Bangalore. Commenting on the appointments, Mukul Agrawal, Managing Director, Unisys Global Services India said, "I am delighted to announce the appointment of Jay and Srikanth. Both are highly qualified and experienced professionals in their respective fields and Unisys will benefit greatly from their expertise. These appointments will help Unisys India operations fulfill its strategic role in the company's global growth plans." Srikanth has over 17 years of international experience in the banking and financial services segment. Prior to joining Unisys he was a consultant with iFlex Solutions Inc. and also has worked with companies like Citicorp, Deutsche Software and Silverline Technologies. Srikanth who has done his post graduation in both Science and Business Administration is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) by Project Management Institute, PA, USA. Prior to joining Unisys Jay was the Divisional Head - IT Infrastructure and IT Security at iGATE Global Solutions. He has over 13 years of experience and played a crucial role in setting up two startup companies, Deutsche Software India Pvt. Ltd and Ideaspace Financial Technologies (later acquired by iGATE Global Solutions in 2003). Jay holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering and is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). Unisys in India is currently in the process of building its management team. The Bangalore center plans to employ 2,000 people over the next five years in the areas of software development, maintenance, business process outsourcing and technical help desk services. Unisys serves six primary vertical markets worldwide including public sector, financial services, transportation, telecommunications, media and commercial.
