U.S. to take H-1B applications from April 1
Tuesday, 09 March 2010, 18:32 Hrs
Washington: The United States will start accepting applications for 65,000 H-1B visas for skilled professionals coveted by Indian techies for fiscal 2011 from April 1.
"Cases will be considered accepted on the date that it takes possession of a properly filed petition with the correct fee; not the date that the petition is postmarked," the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced.

The first 20,000 H-1B petitions filed on behalf of individuals who have earned a US master's degree or higher are exempt from the Congressionally mandated cap of 65,000.
If needed, USCIS will randomly select the number of petitions required to reach the numerical limit from the petitions received on the final receipt date, it said.
Petitions for new H-1B employment are exempt from the annual cap if the beneficiaries will work at institutions of higher education or related or affiliated non-profit entities, non-profit research organizations or governmental research organizations.
US businesses use the H-1B programme to employ foreign workers in specialty occupations that require theoretical or technical expertise in specialized fields, such as scientists, engineers, or computer programmers.

1: The fact is that with this new government and
policy only 10 to 20% people many be able to
come to U.S. even after Visa approval. In
recent day thousands of people have been sent
back to India right from the airport giving
many different false reasons.
Now at least Indian should become smart enough to understand this whole game and should not invest a single penny into H1B visa game.
U.S. government is making money out of 65000 application but Indians are just becoming fool while paying for H1B visa, knowing the fact that U.S. government will not let them come to U.S. for work.

2: U.S. is inviting 65000 applications for H1B
visa for this year only because these
applications are the main source of income
for USCIS and many people are employed just
because of this application fee generated
revenue.
