NEW YORK: U.S.-based Landesk Software said Tuesday it had decided to expand operations in all major countries of the Asia Pacific region to increase its market share in the desktop and device management software segment. After setting up offices in Japan and China, the company plans to enter into other countries in the Asia Pacific region by joining hands with prospective partners, said a Landesk statement issued here. The company said Asia Pacific represents one of the largest and fastest growing markets for desktop and device management software. According to IT industry research firm IDC, Asia Pacific's annual software market size for 2003 is estimated to be $73.9 billion and is forecast to grow at 24.8 percent through 2005, said the statement. "Asia Pacific is an important piece of our global strategy," said Dave Taylor, vice president (sales) of Landesk Software. "Landesk Software's success is directly tied to recruiting strong channel partners into our expert solution provider programme and helping them to build a lucrative practice focused on desktop, server and device management." The company engages trained channel partners, who have relationships with key customers in each region, to provide sales and high quality desktop management planning, installation and support services.
