WASHINGTON: Referring to the progress on intellectual property and workers rights, US President George W Bush has restored duty-free access to US markets for some goods from India. According to a proclamation released by the White House, the President said he was acting under the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) trade rules and the US Trade Act of 1974. "I have determined that India has made progress in providing adequate and effective protection of intellectual property rights. Accordingly, I have determined to terminate the suspension of India's duty-free treatment for certain articles under the GSP," says Bush.
