U.S. employees feel right amount of tension in office
New York: With the U.S. economy condition getting stable, a large number of employees feel that there is right amount of tension at their workplace, while 25 percent believe that there is too much tension. And, 33 percent indicated that there was almost no tension at their work place. According to the study conducted on around 500 working Americans by management consultancy Healthy Companies International, employees seem to accept the need for some tension at their workplace. "Our study suggests most Americans understand a productive workplace has to have a certain level of tension or energy," said Stephen Parker, Chief Commercial Officer,Healthy Companies. But, there are some workers, who also complain of stress or anxiety. "Too much tension can certainly hurt employee performance just as too little motivation or engagement spells its own kind of trouble. We are heartened by the results as having just enough anxiety in the workplace could be the turning point for America to begin to regain its competitive edge," said Parker. The study also found that women were 28 percent more likely than men to believe there was too much tension at their workplace. Likewise, men are more likely than women-- 37-29 per cent-- to think there is almost no tension.
