US Power company wants to invest more in India

BHUBANESHWAR:AES Corp, US based Power Company wants to invest more in other states of India to have power production and distribution network. The company has helped turn Orissa into a power surplus state and has a joint venture with the Orissa Power Generation Corp (OPGC) at Banharpali in Jharsuguda district. The OPGC has two power generation units in the area with a capacity of 210 MW. AES, which has a 49 percent stake in OPGC, manages the two units. "We have turned OPGC into the highest dividend-paying corporation," said AEC business leader A. Srinivas Rao. "We are now interested in participating in (similar ventures) in other states like Karnataka, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan," Rao said.
