BANGALORE:British High Commissioner to India, Sir Michael Arthur will lead a ten-member U.K. business delegation at the Bangalore Bio 2005, a three-day biotechnology exhibition beginning from April 22. Sir Arthur would be the guest of honor at the event, a British High Commission release here said today. The U.K. companies would showcase their strengths in the sector and explore opportunities for collaborations and partnerships, it said. Sir Arthur said, "I am impressed with the strides the Indian biotech industry is making. Today, I applaud India's advances in biotechnology and I am delighted that ten British companies are participating in Bangalore Bio-2005. It is clear that in this sector hard business decisions are leading Indian business to the U.K. and British business to India. I am sure Bangalore Bio 2005 will help take that business cooperation to new levels." As part of the event, U.K. Trade and Investment, a Government organization, would organize a business-to-business session, 'Discover U.K. Bio,' on April 22, when Sir Arthur would preside over a formal signing ceremony between Zenosis, U.K., and EduTech of India. A CEO Conclave, which would witness the confluence of over 400 of the country's 'bio-titans' to listen to a vision talk on what the future holds for the industry, would also be held that day. Three U.K. experts would speak at the conference sessions on April 23 and 24.
