U.K data leaks from Noida BPO

NEW DELHI: A Noida based BPO; V-Angels has reported theft of some extremely confidential and vital British telecom data, Economic Times reports. The mid-size call center, services almost half a dozen companies in the U.S. and U.K., including a blue chip telecom company. The company has refused to comment. The data was allegedly stolen by an ex-employee of the company and sold to another. The Noida police are exploring all possible angles, including a possible terror connection. Both the accused have been arrested by the police and booked under section 72 of the Information Technology Act. The accused would have to undergo an imprisonment of 2 years and a fine of $2500 if proved guilty. Three other employees of the company are also being questioned and they will be tried for forgery under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the paper said.
