Tuniu raises first round of funding

Bangalore: Online travel site Tuniu has announced it has obtained first-round VC funding from Gobi Partners, but did not reveal financial details, reports Marbridge Consulting. "Tuniu differentiates itself from other flight and hotel reservation websites by focusing on travel and holiday product booking," said Jiang Tao, Partner and Vice President of Gobi. Yan Haifeng, COO of Tuniu, said that the website has developed a follow-up system that records service follow-up ratings and comments provided by customers online. According to website statistics, general customer satisfaction levels are currently 97 percent. Established in October 2006, Tuniu.com is an online B2C travel booking service focused on domestic markets.
