NEW DELHI: Japanese network anti virus and internet content security services provider Trend Micro Inc., has announced that it will acquire InterMute, Inc., a developer of anti-spyware products. According to company statement, InterMute's technology will further enhance Trend Micro's anti-spyware solutions for business customers and consumers. Trend Micro said it will offer InterMute's stand-alone anti-spyware products under the Trend Micro brand. Additionally, the company will integrate InterMute's anti-spyware capabilities into its enterprise, small and medium business, and consumer solutions. According to CEO and co-founder of Trend Micro Eva Chen, "Spyware continues to evolve and cause concern and damage, but not all spyware can be handled the way viruses and worms are. The acquisition of InterMute further strengthens our ability to execute upon our anti-spyware strategy and their technology and products are entirely complementary to our own. We expect to deliver combined solutions to market quickly."
