New Delhi: Transcend, a global manufacturer of flash memory products, has announced that its global sales reached $1.143 billion in 2007, the year being Transcend's second consecutive year with sales growth exceeding 40 percent. It is the highest recorded annual sales in the company's history, stated a release. The 2007 revenue figure amounts to an increase of 43.5 percent compared to the $796 million in 2006. Its impressive sales performance in 2007 reflects Transcend's position as the fastest growing memory card and digital media company in terms of global sales and market share. Transcend's global sales revenue for December totaled $79.07 million. The company enjoyed a large increase in shipment in December compared to November's total, thanks to well-established global channels, market share increase in emerging countries and brand awareness reinforcement. While flash memory products contributed to 56.1 percent of the total sales of the company, DRAM modules equaled 38.2 percent. In addition, new product lines including MP3 players, portable hard disk drives and digital photo frames amounted to 5.7 percent of the company's total sales revenue. With the help of sufficient production from its new factories in China and key strategic products, such as MP3 players, portable hard disk drives and Digital Photo Frames, Transcend expects its sales to sustain its growth throughout 2008.
