Torry Harris wins 10 Million pound contract with UK telecom firm

Bangalore: Torry Harris Business Solutions, an IT services and solutions provider in the middleware, integration and SOA space, has announced that it has bagged a 10 million pound outsourcing contract for development and managed services, with a leading UK based Telecommunications provider, for a period of three years. The firm has a customer base of close to 116 million subscribers, spanning five continents. The scope of the deal includes managing key IT systems for customer management, business intelligence and revenue protection, integration comprising of technical systems. Interestingly, most of these systems are based on new age technology as against legacy architecture. The entire engagement will be managed under the onsite/offshore global delivery model, in order to cater to the client's varied requirements. The Torry Harris management team, when contacted, said they are looking to offer more than routine services and bring in higher, intimate service levels when compared to rigid assembly line offerings. "While this deal is not only significant strategically, it will also help showcase our flexibility in meeting our customers' growing needs. There is strong consumer demand for increased transparency and better services," says Sujay Gupta, Country Manager, Torry Harris UK. The telecommunications domain happens to be a key area of focus for the company. In the recent past, Torry Harris won two large SOA contracts with European telecom operators and engaged in delivery using the Agile Development approach. The company has also announced its innovative SOA and integration strategies, to boost its international business and help customers work with reduced budgets. Torry Harris has partnered with Managed Methods, a provider of web services management and runtime SOA governance solutions, on February 1st, 2009, to specifically cater to the SOA governance needs of customers. The company has acquired strong expertise in Managed Method's JaxView product, since the standard product is priced at 75 percent – 90 percent lower than the average industry governance tool.
