1) Apple iPhone 3GS

Apple has increased the speed of the phone to 600MHz. In terms of storage, the RAM stands at 256MB, while the total storage capacity is extended to 32 GB. iPhone 3GS is available with Vodafone and Airtel in India and the 32GB is priced around 36,000, differing from operator-to-operator.


2) Nokia N900



Nokia N900 is the best smartphone the handset giant has come up with, this year. Loaded with powerful ARM Cortex-A8 processor and up to 1GB of total application memory, this phone can keep dozens of application windows open simultaneously. The phone has inbuilt storage of 32GB which can be extended to 48GB. The 5 megapixels Carl Zeiss camera allows to snap quality photos.

N900 runs on Linux based operating system (OS) Maemo, which provides more of a PC-like experience on a small device. The phone measures 4.4 inches by 2.4 inches and features a 3.5-inch widescreen display. It is also equipped with a Mozilla browser and Adobe Flash 9.4 support. In terms of internet speed the device provides 10/2 High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) for mobile broadband speed, along with wireless LAN connectivity.

3) HTC HD2



HD2 is HDC's first Windows Mobile smartphone, which uses HTC Sense and has 4.3-inch display. The HD2 uses 'capacitive touch' display to make viewing, zooming and resizing websites, Microsoft Office files, PDF documents and pictures easier. HTC HD2 is powered by Qualcomm's new 1Ghz Snapdragon mobile processor and gives users the ability to synchronize with Microsoft Exchange and manage multiple e-mail accounts. Users can automatically back up and synch photos, music, contacts and text messages for free from the HD2 to the web.

The HTC HD2 is available at a market operating price of 36,990.


4) Blackberry Storm 2 - 9520



Blackberry Storm was launched last year and had its share of good and bad points. Storm 2 has managed to remove most of the bad points. The phone is slightly bigger than its predecessor at 112.5 x 62.2 x 13.95mm and weighs 160g. The operating system has been upgraded to 5.0, which brings in sharper icons, brighter colors, and blacker blacks. The Storm 2 has excellent messaging and e-mail capabilities. The phone's keyboard has SureType predictive-text entry, which facilitates speedy typing. Equipped with Wi-Fi Storm 2 allows high speed internet acess.

Storm 2 has 3.2 megapixel camera and is powered by 528MHz Qualcomm processor with 256MB of Flash memory. Blackberry has also integrated applications for social networking sites.
