Meyer Lansky:
Meyer Lansky was a Russian-born American organized crime figure. He is also known as the "Mob's Accountant". He along with his associate Charles "Lucky" Luciano was instrumental in the development of the "National Crime Syndicate" in the U.S. For years he was thought to be one of the most powerful people in the country. Lansky developed a gambling empire which extended from Saratoga, New York to Miami to Council Bluffs, Iowa and Las Vegas. Even though he was a member of the Jewish Mob, he certainly had strong influence with the Italian Mafia and played a great role in the consolidation of the criminal underworld. His influence among all the mafias got him a safe seat in the U.S.  It is also believed that he managed gambling concessions in Cuba.
