Tibco to hike employee strength

BANGALORE:Tibco Software Inc said it plans to expand its development center in India to 200 people by November this year. "We have around 20 people at our India Compentancy Center in Pune and by the end of November the number will go up to 150-200," Ram Menon, Senior Vice President (Worldwide Marketing) of Tibco said. Tibco will expand its India center, which was set up in September 2004, to 35,000 sq ft from 18,000 sq ft at present. The company, founded by Vivek Ranadive, makes products for interacting processes in enterprises and is the largest player in the category. After the expansion the Pune center of Tibco will be the only one working on all the processes. "The India center will work on development of core technologies, implementation, consulting and marketing," Menon said. Apart from expanding the India center, Tibco is also planning to investment in marketing in India. It currently has 15 customers, including some of the biggest names like Reliance, Tata Teleservices, HDFC and UTI.
