TiE is a not-for-profit global organization that was founded in Silicon Valley in 1992 by a group of accomplished entrepreneurs from South Asia. Inspired by the novel innovation taking place all around them, the founders sought to create a close community that would foster and advance the pursuits of entrepreneurship across the globe. With heavy emphasis on hands-on mentoring, networking and education, TiE has become one of the fastest growing volunteer organizations in the country, with over 10,000 dedicated members in 42 chapters in nine different countries worldwide. TiE-Boston, founded in 1996, is the second largest chapter of the global TiE network. TiE-Boston’s mission is to be the leading regional resource on entrepreneurship in New England. By facilitating active knowledge exchange and creating face-to-face networking opportunities with peers, TiE-Boston makes a difference by opening doors and playing an active role in the success of locally-based entrepreneurs.
