Three Tata projects flagged off in Orissa

Bhubaneswar: The Tata group today commissioned three major projects in steel, information technology and tourism in Orissa.Chief minister Naveen Patnaik laid the foundation stones for the JN Tata Technical Education Centre at Gopalpur in Ganjam district, a global software development centre of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and an indiOne™ ‘smart basics’ hotel in Bhubaneswar. The JN Tata centre will improve job prospects for the youth of Orissa, Patnaik said. He added that TCS’s development centre will open up opportunities for the youth and will put Orissa in the global IT map. Senior officials from the Tata Group, including Tata Steel managing director B. Muthuraman, Tata Steel vice-president H. Nerurkar, Roots Corporation (a wholly owned subsidiary of Indian Hotels Company) COO Sheila Nair and Tata Consultancy Services vice-president Ajoyendra Mukherjee were present at the function. The JN Tata Technical Education Centre at Gopalpur would be run by the Nettur Technical Training Foundation (NTTF). The other indiOne™ hotels will come up in Paradeep, Puri and Konark.
