Three Indians in top 10 of Forbes' Midas list

NEW DELHI: Three Indian Venture Capitalists have made it to the top 10 in the Forbes Midas 100 list of venture capitalists that was released recently. Google board member Ram Shriram is the first time entrant in the list. It is for the first time that three Indians have made it to the list. Shriram is ranked sixth on the list in which L John Doerr and Michael Moritz rank first and second respectively. Pramod Haque and Vinod Khosla, the other two Indians, who are on the eight and ninth position on the list and have slid from the top two slots they occupied last year. 48-year-old Shriram, who has made a steep climb to the list, holds around 5.1 million shares of Google. Sriram was the co-founder of the Junglee.com, Shriram was an early investor in Google. However another prolific investor of Indian origin Pramod Haque has slipped to number 8 position from the number 1 position he held last year. Haque, 56, has been described by the list released last week as having a "quiet year". Khosla, 50 has slid from his second position last year to ninth this year was described by the list as "semi-retired now." Khosla is working on microloans in India.
