Bangalore: Being an entrepreneur means that you end up compromising on your family life. Missing out on the growing ages of children, not being able to attend family functions, being tagged a unsocial person, are few of the sacrifices an entrepreneur has to make in order to ensure that his business flourishes. In a candid chat with siliconindia, few entrepreneurs discuss what they feel is ‘the worst part of being an entrepreneur.’

Krithika Nelson, Co-Founder and CEO, Shopo.in“The worst part of being an entrepreneur is that you do not get time to pursue your interests. Due to my hectic schedule I do not get time to pursue my interests in cooking and singing. I thought of taking out atleast one hour daily to do whatever I want, but that is still in theory, as I am unable to go ahead with the plan,” says Krithika.

For entrepreneurs, it is tough to find out time for anything other than the business, but always come across a situation where something goes wrong at the last moment, due to which they are unable to meet other commitments. “I try to balance my personal and professional life as much as possible and professional life as much as possible, but I get stuck in some important meeting due to which I am unable to take out time. As difficult and as challenging as it can become, I love being an entrepreneur and give full credits to my husband for supporting me all through this and understanding me,” adds Krithika.

Krithika Nelson is the Co-Founder and CEO of Shopo.in, an online marketplace for Indian handcrafted, handmade, and designer goods.
