Ten Most Tragic Stories from Bollywood

Sadma: The perfect portrayal of unconditional love, the story of Sadma depicts the life of K Somprakash, a school teacher who finds Nehalata in a brothel and decides to rescue and cure her. Nehalata is a young girl who, after having met with a car crash and suffered a head injury, regresses and goes back to childhood. He sings to her, dances for her, bathes her and feeds her. He gets irritated with her and gradually falls in love with her. He changes her name from Nehalata to Reshmi and she begins to call him Sonu in return. Mild mannered and docile in nature, Somprakash shows a rare angry streak when he tries to rescue Nehalata from the dangerous Balua. The childlike nature of Nehalata is touching and seen throughout the movie. However the movie ends with Nehalata regaining her memory without remembering anything about Somprakash, who goes mad with the trauma.
