Tellium expands Europe operations

OCEANPORT: Tellium, Inc. (Nasdaq:TELM) announced Monday that it is expanding its operations in Europe by opening a sales office in Paris. The company has offices in London and Brussels as well. Tellium has hired Frederic Esbert as area vice president for sales. Esbert has 14 years of experience in telecommunications. From 1996 to 2002, he was country manager then regional sales director, France and Belgium, for Tellabs, SAS. Before joining Tellabs, Esbert worked as sales director for Xylogics, France, and from 1988 to 1994 he held engineering and sales positions with Gandalf S.A., the French subsidiary of Gandalf Technologies Inc. Esbert is a graduate of the Executive MBA program at the Institut Francais de Gestion. "We are glad to have Frederic on the Tellium team," said Mark McCoy, Tellium's senior vice president, worldwide sales. "His knowledge about the business and his many contacts with potential new customers will help us to be positioned to capture new business when the turnaround in telecom capital spending begins."
