Telcos making attractive offers this New Year

Ludhiana: To ring in the New Year, almost all the leading telecom companies have come up with special offers for their subscribers, reports Times of India.
Giving details about the offers, Jaiveer, one of the executives working in Airtel said that the telco's special offers for the New Year includes an SMS pack, whereby paying a tariff of 
115 a subscriber could send 10,000 national or local messages. Jaiveer also added that, by paying 115 one could get 750 minutes free and by paying 222 the subscriber can get full talk time of 222.
CS Bhanot, General Manager BSNL said that this time the main emphasis was on promoting 3G services and for this, the department had announced some offers till January 10. Now, the 3G subscribers can download three videos for 30 and three audio songs for 20. For downloading two games, the subscriber has to pay 50 and one could download five party videos for just 49. Bhanot added that along with that by paying 49 one could send unlimited SMSes.
An employee of a private telecom company on condition of anonymity told Times of India, that on special occasions the SMS rate increases to 3 from 0.60 paise, so most telecom firms make attractive offers during this period to lure buyers. Along with that, some of the companies have started giving offers on weekly basis so that the subscribers do not switch over.
