Tech buffs turn web development savvy

Bangalore: Enthralled to accrue knowledge on web development, around 400 attendees entered the dim lit auditorium of Nimhan's Convention Center for Smart Techie's Web Development Conference on 4th October. Moreover, adding to the enthusiastic environment, the fervent speakers went all the way to share their lifelong knowledge enlightening in-depth details of the web world. Atul Chitnis, Senior Vice President, Geodesic Information Systems cited how open source applications have gained momentum. He said, "It is not that any source available becomes an open source rather it is the one which empowers the user to correct and improvise the existing one." Bejoy Jaison, Technical Leader, Nokia Siemens Networks, Thava Alagu, Software Architect of Sun Microsystems; Tennyson Kaniampady, Technical Consultant, Ingres and Ramnarayan Krishnaiyer, Engineering Manager, Adobe suggested ways to deliver better results in the development of applications or on adopting proper frameworks and enlightening more on the future prospects of the web applications. "To deliver positive results in building of applications the designers as well as developers should work in co-operation," says Vinu Thomas, Technical Architect, Impelsys India. Being a mishmash of enlightening panel and tutorials with striking web talks on open source, php, web applications, MySQL it offered great opportunity for the tech buffs to ingrain more knowledge on their field. Sun Microsystems, Ingress and Adobe stood as the gold sponsors while Webyog, Aghreni, Vaks Online Services supported as the silver sponsors. But the mesmerizing impact does not end within the walls of the auditorium as the moment one steps out of the hall they will be greeted by the vibrant Smart Techie's Job Fair wherein different company stalls showcased their products as well as were recruiting skilled people. Apart from the 400 people visiting the conference, the job fair roped in around 1700 job seekers eyeing the prospective marks in the technical line. Firms like Microsoft, Unisys, Unicita, Aztecsoft, Bodhtree, Aricent Vaks Online and Spike source came in to take in the best among them.
