Bangalore: With 2012 just a week old, a lot has been happening especially in the field of technology. Here’s a sneak peek into some of the events that made it to the top-
1. Within days of her appointment as the company’s CEO, Virginia Rometty realigned IBM’s top management. IBM also announced a “definitive agreement” to acquire Green Hat, a software quality and testing solutions firm that bases its applications in the cloud. Rometty is the first female CEO in IBM’s 100 years.

Scott Thompson was named as Yahoo's new CEO on Wednesday. Being the previous president at eBay’s PayPal unit, he steered the company into mobile payments, which in turn, helped the company to double its revenue within a span of four years. However, according to the Wall Street Journal, investors remained unimpressed because of Thompson’s lack of experience in the field of online display advertising, and the company’s shares fell by 3.1% on the day he was appointed.
