NEW DELHI: TechSpan Inc., a U.S.-based IT solutions company, Friday said its Indian software development center has been successfully assessed at Software-Capability Maturity Model (S-CMM) Level 3. The S-CMM level certification is an industry-recognized framework for consistent quality delivery of software products and services. S-CMM ratings are earned through an exhaustive independent evaluation involving analysis and review of a company's software development capability, its processes and its products. With the successful assessment of TechSpan's Center of Excellence at Noida, the company has entered the Global CMM Elite 15 Club, said a TechSpan statement issued here. Companies in Global CMM Elite 15 Club have sought and been assessed for both People-CMM and Software-CMM maturities. TechSpan had earlier been assessed at the People-CMM (Level 3) that recognize practices that continuously improve the capability of an organization’s workforce. The two capability maturity models - people and software -- are developed by Carnegie Mellon's Software Engineering Institute to assist organizations in maturing their people, processes and technology assets. "The key need of customers today is productivity and predictability on their outsourced projects. Stability of processes helps us provide these on a repeatable basis," said TechSpan Inc chairman and CEO Arjun Malhotra. "With the Software and People-CMM models at work in TechSpan, we are in a good position to implement our growth plans ahead of the industry upswing." TechSpan has three development centers, of which two is in California and Virginia the U.S.
