Taurus Mutual Fund launches new scheme

Bangalore: Taurus Mutual Fund today announced the launch of their close-ended debt scheme - Taurus Fixed Maturity Plan 385 Days - Series I. This fund is open for subscription from March 08, 2010 to March 15, 2010. The duration of the fund will be for 385 days from the date of allotment, March 16, 2010. The performance of this fund will be benchmarked against the Crisil Short Term Bond Index.

The investment objective of the scheme is to generate income with minimum volatility through investments in a portfolio of debt (including securitized debt) and money market instruments. The fund will have two investment plans - Retail and Institutional. Both the plans have two options - Growth option and Dividend option. Dividend Option will have a Payout facility.

The scheme offers Indexation benefit would be available for two financial years (2009-10 and 2010-11). Under the dividend option dividends are tax free in the hands of the investor. Pankaj Jain will be the Fund Manager for this fund.
