Tata Teleservices unveils SMS bill payment service

Mumbai: Mumbai based Tata Teleservices, a telecommunication service provider has embraced the digital system for its bill payment process. The company has launched a pre-paid top-up and post-paid bill payment services through SMS. To make the service available in the domestic telecom space, the firm has partnered with mChek , a Mumbai based mobile payment service provider. To avail the service subscribers have to send an SMS from their Tata Indicom mobile phone. They will then receive an automated call back on the phone to register their credit card number and approval for the transaction, the statement added. Another firm which had partnered with mChek for a similar mobile payment process is Airtel. The telecom company had begun offering the services in 2007.
