NEW DELHI: IndiaÂ’s largest private steel company by revenues Tata Steel Ltd. is in talks to buy a Thailand steel company, a business daily reported. Tata Steel is looking to buy either Tusco or Millennium Steel Pcl. in Thailand to boost its wire rod steel making capacity, said the report in the Economic Times. Tata Steel made an unsuccessful bid once before to buy Tusco in the late 1990s, said the report. If successful, this will be Tata SteelÂ’s second overseas acquisition. Last August it bought Natsteel of Singapore. Tata Steel has been looking at acquiring overseas steel companies in its quest to become a major global steel maker.
