Tata Power top gainer with 6.43 percent increase
Bangalore: Tata Power (TATAPOWER) ended the day at Rs 1213.65 gaining by 73.35 after opening at Rs 1160. Yesterday the stock had closed at Rs 1140.30. In all 1,72,842 shares of Tata Power was traded in the market today. The stock had reached the intraday high of Rs 1223.00 and reached a low of Rs 1149.80. The P/E Ratio of the stock is 27.78. Tata Power pioneered the generation of electricity in India. It has now successfully served the Mumbai consumers for over ninety years and has spread its footprints across the nation. During the fiscal year ended March 31, 2008 (fiscal 2008), the Company generated 14,717 million units of power from all of its power plants. Reliance Diversified Power Sector Fund holds the highest number of shares in this stock. Out of the 25 analysts following Tata Power, consensus recommendation is outperform. While seven of them recommends a buy, eight of them recommend hold. Two of the analysts recommend to sell the stock. On Tuesday, Tata Power had announced that it sees revenues from its power trading business increasing with more merchant power generating capacity becoming available.
