Mumbai: People's passion to drive away Tata Nano as soon as possible has resulted into a huge demand for the application forms that a customer should fill in order to book the little wonder. In just five days of its availability, Tata Motors alone has sold over 51,000 forms with booking price ranges from 95,000 to 1,40,000. Tata Motors is expected to earn around Rs 30 crore from the sale of around 10 lakh forms at Rs 300 per form, through 218 dealers, reported The Economic Times. The forms are also sold through 30,000 other locations such as SBI, its subsidiaries and associates, other preferred financiers and outlets of Tata Finance, Westside, Croma, Titan and Tata Indicom. "The response has been quite good, even though customers have not been given a chance to test-drive the car," said an official at a Mumbai-based Tata Motors dealership. The rush isn't just coming in from eager customers, with dealers across the country making a beeline for forms. Some are understood to have picked up as many as 20,000 forms each, with smaller dealers buying as many as 5,000 forms to cater to the rush for the world's cheapest car. "Almost half the customers visiting the showrooms to check out the Nano are buying forms, with most of the enquiries related to the top-end variant," said Tata Motor dealers. A dealer opines that customers are wary of the huge booking amount though, and are enquiring about ways and means to finance it through the various finance schemes offered by banks and finance companies. SBI is the nodal bank for Nano booking.
