Tata Infotech Q2 net up by 52%

MUMBAI: Tata Infotech has reported a 52 percent rise in its net profit for the second quarter of the current financial year. The net profit for the quarter stood at $0.63 million against $0.41 million in the same period last financial year. The company attributed this to the growth in all its segments — systems integration, manufacturing and educational services. Income from operations increased by 14 percent to $4.88 million from $4.28 million in the corresponding period previous year. The company’s Chairman, Farrokh Kavarana said: “The company's thrust on customer focus and operational efficiency has contributed significantly towards the improvement in all-round performance.” Infotech’s operating profit amounted to $0.66 million, an increase from $0.53 million. For the first half of the current financial year, the net profit of the company jumped by 60 percent to $1.14 million from $0.71 million reported during the same period previous year. Revenues for the proposed period have gone by 16 percent to $9.53 million ($8.24 million).
